28th August 2025 | College Campus
The Environmental Club of Annapoorana Engineering College (AEC) organized a Tree Plantation Drive on 28th August 2025 at the college campus. The event aimed to promote environmental awareness, sustainability, and the importance of preserving nature among students and staff members.
The program was inaugurated by the Principal, Dr. A. Anbuchezian, He encouraged students to take active participation in environmental protection activities and to cultivate a sense of responsibility towards nature.
The event was successfully coordinated by Dr. J. Sivakumar and Mr. T. Poornachandar, who guided the plantation process and motivated students to contribute wholeheartedly to the cause. Under their leadership, members of the Environmental Club, faculty, and students planted 200 saplings of various species, including fruit-bearing and shade-giving trees, at different locations across the campus.
The participants enthusiastically took part in the activity, ensuring each sapling was properly planted and pledged to take care of their assigned trees. The plantation drive not only beautified the campus but also reinforced AEC’s commitment to creating a green and sustainable learning environment.
27th July 2025 | Seeragapadi Government School
The Environmental Club of Annapoorana Engineering College (AEC) organized a Tree Plantation Drive on 27th July 2025 at Seeragapadi Government School as part of its community outreach and environmental awareness initiative. The main objective of the program was to promote the importance of afforestation and to create environmental consciousness among school students and the local community.
The event was coordinated by Dr. J. Sivakumar and Mr. T. Poornachandar, who guided and motivated the participants throughout the activity. Under their supervision, members of the Environmental Club, along with teachers and students of Seeragapadi School, actively participated in the plantation process.
A total of 50 saplings were planted within the school premises, including fruit-bearing and shade-giving varieties. The coordinators highlighted the significance of trees in improving air quality, conserving biodiversity, and mitigating climate change. Each sapling was assigned to a student for regular watering and care to ensure its healthy growth.
The initiative helped instill a sense of environmental responsibility and community service among the participants. The school management appreciated AEC’s efforts and expressed gratitude for contributing to the beautification and greening of the campus.
25th October 2025 | Periyaseeragapadi Government School
The Environmental Club of Annapoorana Engineering College (AEC) organized a Tree Plantation Drive on 25th October 2025 at Periyaseeragapadi Government School as part of its outreach program to promote environmental awareness and sustainability among school students and the local community.
The event was successfully coordinated by Dr. J. Sivakumar and Mr. T. Poornachandar, who guided and motivated the participants throughout the activity. Under their leadership, members of the Environmental Club, along with enthusiastic club students, actively participated in planting 100 saplings within the school premises.
The planted saplings included a variety of fruit-bearing and shade-giving trees, carefully selected to enhance the greenery and environmental quality of the school surroundings. The coordinators explained the importance of tree plantation in maintaining ecological balance, improving air quality, and mitigating the effects of climate change.
Students of Periyaseeragapadi School also joined the initiative and were encouraged to take responsibility for nurturing the saplings regularly. The program helped to instill environmental values, teamwork, and a sense of social responsibility among all participants.
