About the Club

The Annapoorana Engineering College Anti Drug Club is a dynamic and socially responsible student-led initiative dedicated to combating the menace of substance abuse among the youth. The club aims to protect students from the ever-increasing threat of addiction by transforming them into proactive stakeholders in the mission for a healthier community. Through a variety of engaging activities such as awareness lectures, poster exhibitions, street plays and competitions (essay writing, debates, slogan writing), the club educates peers on the ill effects of drugs and alcohol, encouraging positive life choices. The ultimate goal is to nurture competent and disciplined engineers who are not only technically proficient but also socially conscious leaders committed to a drug-free future.

1 SAY NO TO DRUGS PLEDGE TAKING 08.08.2026 The Anti-Drug Club of Annapoorana Engineering College (AEC), Salem, organized a Mass Anti-Drug Pledge Taking Programme. This vital initiative aligns with the government's statewide "Drug-Free Tamil Nadu" campaign to protect youth and promote healthy lifestyles. Mass Pledge Taking: The entire student body, along with faculty members and administration, gathered to take a solemn collective oath promising never to indulge in substance abuse and to prevent their peers from falling into addiction.
2 DRUG AWARENESS CAMPAIGN, KAKAPALAYAM VILLAGE 09.08.2025 On August 9, 2025, Kakapalayam Village hosted a powerful Drug Awareness Campaign to educate the community on the dangers of substance abuse. Organized by Annapoorana Engineering College's Anti-Drug Club, the event focused on the physical, mental, and social tolls of addiction. Club members conducted door-to-door sessions and a public rally, using posters and slogans to spark conversation. Experts shared insights on identifying early signs of drug use and highlighted available rehabilitation resources. By engaging both parents and students, the campaign fostered a collective commitment to keeping the village "drug-free," empowering residents to build a healthier, more vigilant environment for future generations.
3 DRUG AWARENESS RALLY, VEERAPANDI 26.02.2025 Annapoorana Engineering College's Anti-Drug Club organized a powerful Drug Awareness Rally at Veerpandi, Salem, on February 26, 2025, to combat the rising menace of substance abuse. Enthusiastic participants, including students, local authorities, and community members, marched through the main streets carrying placards with messages like "Say No to Drugs" and "Choose Life, Not Drugs." The event focused on educating the youth on the severe physical, mental, and social consequences of addiction. A strong anti-drug pledge was taken, with officials emphasizing the necessity of a collective effort to build a safe, healthy, and drug-free Veerapandi, urging vigilance in keeping the community safe from illegal substances.
