It has gradually grown and is recognized as one of the finest English department in engineering institutions. The Department has a special position among the student community for the initiatives it takes to promote the communication skills and personality development of the students through activities outside the curriculum. The Department conducts need-based training programmes in English for the first year students of engineering with professional experts from outside the institution

Vision

To envision the department as a centre for academic excellence, professional expertise, and contextual research in English studies

Mission

To train students in communication skills. The overall mission of the English department is to promote literacy – specifically the ability to read, write and think critically. To prepare them for careers and higher education.
