HOD

Civil engineering is one of the prime departments in campus, featuring notable staff members and undergraduate students. In 2010, the department was established. In different technical teams such as concrete technology, transportation engineering, surveying, structural analysis and design, the department faculty works with strong team spirit. This results in important academic publications and consulting work in various fields. Through its teaching learning process, the department tries to provide an encouraging atmosphere for students to acquire analytical and practical abilities and apply them to real-world issues. To keep students motivated, the department offers ongoing training in the form of certification courses, value-added courses, VET, expert talks, site visits, and conferences. The department’s goal is to address major difficulties that industry, society, and academics face. Perhaps even more essential is our unwavering dedication to our students, which includes assisting them in gaining knowledge, skills, growing, developing, and achieving their objectives in order to excel in their professional careers. We are delighted to have you as a member of the civil engineering department’s undergraduate students and wish you every success.

List Of Laboratory

ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING LABORATORY

Environmental Engineering Laboratory, being established during 2012 is fully equipped with relevant equipment and sensors for monitoring water and waste water qualities including concentration levels of total dissolved/suspended solids, turbidity, hardness, alkalinity, acidity, chlorides, dissolved oxygen, biochemical oxygen demand, chemical oxygen demand, most probable numbers of bacteria. At present, this laboratory is maintained and operated to conduct experiments at UG level course curriculum. The research equipment with more advanced features is under process to get installed in this laboratory.

HYDRAULICS ENGINEERING LABORATORY

The Hydraulics Laboratory is a state-of-the art facility used to conduct a variety of experiments pertaining to water. Among other things, this laboratory provides a means of testing the hydraulic properties of submerged bridges and the hydraulic properties of highway drainage structures and stream crossings.

STRENGTH OF MATERIAL LABORATORY

The objective of the strength of materials lab is to demonstrate the basic principles in the area of strength and mechanics of materials and structural analysis to the undergraduate students through a series of experiments

CONCRETE AND HIGHWAY LABORATORY

Concrete lab enables students to carry various experiments regarding Compressive Strength of Concrete, Tensile Strength of Concrete, Work ability Test, Design Mix, and Modulus of Rupture of Concrete. All these experiments intended to determine the quality of concrete

SURVEYING LABORATORY

Surveying laboratory aids in the developments of fundamental laboratory on land surveying to civil engineering students. Laboratory comprises of instruments for distance measurements and for measuring heights of the objects.

SOIL MECHANICS LABORATORY

The Soil Mechanics Laboratory is well equipped with all necessary equipment for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research in soil mechanics and foundation engineering. Research, consultancy and regular soil testing works are conducted in this laboratory under the supervision of faculty members, research scholars and laboratory staffs specializing in the area of Geotechnical Engineering.

CADD LABORATORY

The CAD Laboratory is a central facility of the institute where all undergraduate and postgraduate students, research scholars and faculty members can work with the sophisticated 2-D & 3-D design and analysis software. They can learn to use the latest software and carry out their research work.
