The department of Civil Engineering was started in 2010. The department offers a full time B.E course in Civil Engineering & has a team of well qualified and highly experienced faculty members with rich academic and industrial experience in various frontiers engineering and technology areas such as Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, Environmental Engineering etc. The department has well equipped State-of-art-laboratory like Material Testing, Soil Testing, Surveying, Environmental & Hydraulic Laboratories etc.,

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

PEO1: To build innovative solutions in multidisciplinary fields as internationally qualified technology experts, scientists and entrepreneurs with teamwork and leadership skills.

PEO2: Excel as socially engaged, mutually respectful software developers, effective communication skills, strong ethical values, and compassion for society's needs.

PEO3: Participate in lifelong learning to facilitate sustainable development in emerging technology areas.

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES (PO)

  • PO1: Knowledge of engineering: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, basic technology and engineering to solve complex engineering problems.
  • PO2: Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review literature and evaluate complex engineering issues that draw substantiated conclusions using the first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.
  • PO3: Design / development of solutions: Develop solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components that meet the specified needs with due regard to public health and safety, as well as cultural, social and environmental considerations.
  • PO4: Conduct research on complex issues: Using evidence-based expertise and study methods like experiment design, data analysis and interpretation, and information synthesis to provide valid conclusions.
  • PO5: Modern use of technology: Develop, pick and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern engineering and IT software like forecasting and simulation of complex engineering activities with an understanding of limitations.
  • PO6: Engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by contextual knowledge in order to assess economic, health, security, legal and cultural issues and the consequent obligations applicable to professional engineering.
  • PO7: Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact in social and environmental contexts of professional engineering solutions and show the awareness and need for sustainable development.
  • PO8: Ethics: Apply ethical principles and adhere to the engineering practice's professional ethics, obligations and expectations.
  • PO9: Individual and team work: Work as a person and as a member or manager in various teams and multidisciplinary environments.
  • PO10: Communication: Interacting effectively with the engineering community and with society as a whole on complex engineering tasks, such as recognizing and writing effective reports and project documents, and giving and receiving clear instructions.
  • PO11: Project management and financing: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the concepts of technology and management and apply them to one's own work, as a team member and manager, project management and multidisciplinary environments.

PROGRAMME SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSO)

PSO1: Professional Skills: Gain the ability to design and build systems based on hardware and software, identify and understand potential risks and provide creative solutions.
